Tesmar Application Technology

Tesmar Application Technology is a service company which is based on the 29 years of experience which Tom Tesmar has obtained through a variety of positions within the industry.

1981 - Began as a subcontractor for Heating Consultants. Designed and installed Solar and Geothermal heat plants in a variety of projects.

1982 –Tom, together with two other contractors, formed Solstar Inc., wherein Tom acted as president of the company. Solstar installed premium Solar, Geothermal and Radiant floor heating systems in a variety of projects.  Installed the first solar assisted geothermal heating system without a ground loop.

1989 - Tom Joined Wirsbo Company as the first Technical Manager for North American operations.  Designed the product line, wrote the Design Assistance Manual for radiant systems.  Wrote the program and delivered platform instruction.  During that time he was the primary individual involved in gaining approval for Crosslinked Polyethylene (PEX) tubing in the Mechanical and Plumbing Codes throughout North America, during a time when Polybutylene tubing was being eradicated from the same codes. Became a member of Plastic Pipe Institute (PPI), Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association (PPFA), National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Canadian Standards Association (CSA),  International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), Building Officials and Code Administrators International (BOCA), International Association of Building Officials (ICBO) Hydronics Institute (HI) and the Institute of Boiler Research (IBR) and many other associations dedicated to safe use of materials and practices in construction. Tom attended the first concept meeting of the Radiant Panel Association (RPA) where he was able to convince the founders to name it Radiant Panel Association instead of Radiant Floor Association, recognizing the huge opportunity for radiant walls and ceilings. Tom started at Wirsbo when US sales were approximately $150K/year and left when annual sales reached over $25 million.

1995 - Left Wirsbo Company and formed Tesmar Application Technology (TAT). TAT became a direct consultant to several companies involved in growing the radiant floor heating market.  Tom wrote 6 new radiant heating manuals, 5 new snowmelting manuals and 5 new PEX based Potable water manuals.   Tom has since conducted numerous training seminars throughout North America, dealing with cost effective radiant heating systems.

During my entire career in radiant heating, I have continued to design and install systems, gaining new knowledge and testing new concepts on each project. I have worked to pass on these lessons in order to further the technology in North America for the North American climates, and our unique energy and economic situations.

Today, we provide direct consultation to any size company and any size project from industrial to do it yourself homeowner additions.  Together with my Son Tom Tesmar III, we install or supervise the installation of systems, virtually, anywhere.  My son Tom, though young at 29 has had a great deal of experience in this industry. My wife Sheri handles the books, does the heat loss analysis for projects, and, from time to time, helps out on construction jobs. We’d love to work with you on anything you are doing in this industry.
